Over the summer, GMC showed off the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 All Mountain Concept at the Calgary Stampede, complete with treads in place of tires. In a few words: It was completely awesome.
This AT4 All Mountain pickup uses the same engine as the Sierra 1500 AT4 that it is based on — a 6.2-liter V8 engine that cranks out 240 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. GMC partners this potent engine with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
So besides some unique graphics wrapping for the concept, what makes this different from the regular Sierra 1500 AT4? The biggest thing you’ll notice is that it rides on Mattracks treads instead of wheels for real off-road prowess. But that’s not all. For easier off-roading in the dark, GMC has outfitted the concept with LED lighting and LED front grille lighting. The Sierra 1500 AT4 All Mountain Concept also gets an 8-inch lift for better ground clearance and a Kicker Audio 200-watt-powered subwoofer kit for better audio.
While GMC won’t actually sell the 2019 GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 All Mountain Concept, you can customize a GMC Sierra 1500 AT4 to get everything this vehicle offers — except the treads. But no worries: Mattracks can easily get you a track conversion kit for the truck so you can replace those wheels too. For everything up until that point, visit Freehold Buick GMC!
