The 2016 GMC Terrain’s reveal took place just before the SUV’s public debut at the New York International Auto Show, and a variety of style and technology updates makes it the most appealing Terrain to-date.
The compact SUV segment is more popular than ever, even pushing midsize cars aside as the industry’s largest segment for the first time ever. The Terrain’s arrival couldn’t come at a better time for the automaker, after record Terrain sales in both January and February this year suggest that the Terrain will continue to see growing momentum.
The 2016 Terrain will see new front and rear fascias, a more distinguished grille, a power dome hood design, LED daytime running lamps (for some trims), and 18-inch aluminum wheels. In addition, the SLE and SLT trims will be available with Blind Zone Alert and Rear Cross Traffic Alert for the first time.
“Terrain is a popular choice in the growing compact SUV segment, introducing drivers to GMC’s professional grade design and features,” said Duncan Aldred, vice president of GMC Sales and Marketing. “The changes for 2016 provide consumers with even more reasons to consider Terrain as it continues to be a smart choice for customers seeking versatility, style and technology.”
