J.D. Power and Associates recently announced the top performers in its 2013 Initial Quality Study, and the all-new 2013 Buick Encore claimed the award in the sub-compact SUV category.
“It’s a rare achievement to have an all-new vehicle in its launch year rank highest in initial quality,” said Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick Marketing. “Recognizing the Encore as a segment leader demonstrates the effort and attention to detail given by our engineers and designers and expected by luxury customers.”
The IQS examines owner-reported problems that occur in the first 90 days of ownership. Each vehicle and brand is scored based on problems that have caused a complete breakdown or malfunction or problems using or understanding features. 2013 Encore owners had few mechanical or technology problems resulting in a high quality score.
The 2013 Buick Encore is packed with features including 18-inch aluminum wheels, 60/40 split-folding rear seat design, 18.8 cubic feet of luggage space, Buick IntelliLink smartphone connectivity, seven-inch color touchscreen, and QuietTuning technology. Other standard features include remote engine starting, dual-zone automatic climate control, driver’s seat memory and outside mirror memory.
Standard safety features on the 2013 Encore include 10 air bags, stability and traction control, OnStar, and anti-lock brakes.
