J.D. Power Ranks Buick No. 1 for Initial Quality

Buick’s reputation for premium vehicles recently got a big boost from J.D. Power, which ranked the auto brand No. 1 overall in the 2022 U.S. Initial Quality Study.

The IQS analyzes every major automotive brand, measuring how many problems customers experience in the first three months after buying a vehicle. Buick customers reported the fewest problems per 100 vehicles of any brand. Although Buick performed well in last year’s study, too, this year’s performance was a significant improvement over 2021.

Adding to the impact of Buick’s overall top ranking, the popular Encore GX was rated No. 1 for initial quality in J.D. Power’s Small SUV segment, while the Encore was ranked No. 2.

“At Buick, the quality of our materials, world-class manufacturing, and customer-centric design are at the forefront of everything we do,” said Duncan Aldred, global vice president of Buick and GMC. “Therefore, we’re very pleased, but not surprised, that Buick finished first in the J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Initial Quality Study.”

From the Encore and Encore GX to the larger Envision and the three-row Enclave, the Buick SUV lineup provides high-quality, high-value options for all sorts of drivers.
