GMC recently released a new ad campaign featuring the GMC MultiPro tailgate, which showcases some of the many exciting aspects of the latest GMC Sierra. The ad, which has many non-GMC truck owners lining up to get the new MultiPro tailgate, emphasizes that there’s so much more you can do with your GMC truck than with the competition.
According to GMC, there are seven ways to use the MultiPro tailgate. What exactly is this feature? It allows you to combine a primary gate and a smaller inner gate, which can be raised and lowered to offer various tailgate configurations. For instance, there’s a bed extender, an easy-step system, and more.
“We exhaustively test every tailgate on our trucks, but we went even further with MultiPro,” says Derek Patterson, an engineer on the GMC MultiPro design team. “We’ve slammed both tailgate panels tens of thousands of times . . . All told, we wanted MultiPro to be as durable and professional grade as the Next Generation Sierra itself.”
The new tailgate has a primary gate that’s just like a conventional tailgate with a release button. There’s also a gate load stop configuration, which prevents items from sliding out the back when the gate is down, as well as an easy-access configuration to help you stand closer as you unload bulky items. The full-width step makes it easier to get in the bed, and the other configurations include an inner gate load stop, inner gate work surface, and an outdoor audio system.
